Channel Letters & Dimensional Signs

Three-Dimensional Signs That Make Your Business Impossible to Miss

Channel letters and dimensional signage are what most people picture when they think of professional business signs. These are the raised, three-dimensional letters you see on storefronts, office buildings, and shopping centers throughout Southern NH and the Seacoast.

Unlike flat vinyl or printed signs, dimensional letters create depth and shadow that grabs attention from the street, the parking lot, and even at night when illuminated. They tell customers you're established, professional, and here to stay.

We design, fabricate, and install channel letters in-house at our Kingston, NH shop. No middlemen, no subcontractors - which means faster turnaround and direct communication from start to finish.

Types of Dimensional Signs We Build

Each style has its place. We'll help you pick the right one for your location, budget, and visibility needs.

Illuminated dimensional letters spelling GOAT mounted on wooden wall

Illuminated Channel Letters

The classic three-dimensional business sign. Each letter is individually fabricated and lit from within using LED modules. Front-lit, back-lit (halo), or both - your sign works day and night. Built to last 10+ years with minimal maintenance.

Flat cut acrylic letters spelling LPIX in modern office lobby

Flat Cut Letters

Precision-cut from acrylic, aluminum, PVC, or brushed metals. Clean, modern, and versatile. Perfect for interior lobbies, office walls, and directional signage where you want professional depth without illumination.

LED backlit channel letters for Beach Club Casino with dramatic halo lighting effect at night

LED Backlit Signs

Letters mounted slightly off the wall with LEDs behind them, creating a dramatic halo glow. High-end look that's popular for restaurants, hotels, and businesses wanting an upscale nighttime presence. We use commercial-grade LEDs rated for 50,000+ hours.

Bronze dimensional plaque with raised lettering and portrait for commemorative display

Dimensional Plaques & Cast Signs

Raised letters and graphics on a solid backing - bronze, aluminum, or HDU foam. Classic look for building dedications, historical markers, donor walls, and professional directories. Built to last generations.

Why Businesses Choose Signs East

We've been building dimensional signs since 2012. Here's what sets us apart.

Faster Than the Industry

Most sign companies quote 8-12 weeks for channel letters. We often deliver in half that time - and we'll work nights and weekends when your deadline demands it.

In-House Everything

Design, fabrication, permitting, installation - all handled by our team. No subcontractors, no finger-pointing. You deal with one company from concept to completion.

Built to Last

We use commercial-grade LEDs, 3M and Avery vinyls, and properly sealed electrical connections. Your sign will handle New England winters and still look sharp years from now.

How a Channel Letter Project Works

From first call to final installation - here's what to expect.

1

Consultation & Site Survey

We visit your location to measure, photograph, and understand your goals. We'll discuss materials, illumination options, mounting methods, and any landlord or HOA requirements. You get a detailed quote with no surprises.

2

Design & Approval

Our designers create scaled mockups showing exactly how your sign will look on your building. You'll see font options, color choices, and day/night visibility. We revise until you're happy - then lock in the design for production.

3

Permitting & Fabrication

We handle the permit applications, drawings, and approvals with your local building department. While paperwork moves, we start fabricating your sign in our shop. Permitting often takes longer than fabrication - every town is different.

4

Installation & Walkthrough

Our crew handles the installation - lift equipment, electrical connections, final alignment. We test everything on-site and walk you through operation and maintenance. You get documentation and our direct number if anything ever needs attention.

Channel Letter Questions

Answers to the most common questions we hear.

It depends on letter count, size, illumination type, and installation complexity. A typical storefront channel letter sign ranges from $3,000 to $15,000+. We provide detailed quotes after a site survey so you know exactly what you're getting. No hidden fees, no surprises at installation.
With proper fabrication, 10-15 years is typical before major refurbishment. The LED modules we use are rated for 50,000+ hours - that's over 11 years of 12-hour daily operation. Acrylic faces may need replacing sooner if sun-faded, but we use UV-stabilized materials to extend that lifespan.
Almost always, yes. Most NH towns and Massachusetts municipalities require sign permits for illuminated exterior signage. Some also require electrical permits. We handle the entire permitting process - applications, drawings, variance requests if needed. It's often the longest part of a sign project.
Front-lit (standard) channel letters have a translucent acrylic face that glows when lit - the letter itself is the light source. Back-lit (halo) letters are opaque with LEDs mounted behind them, creating a glow around each letter on the wall. Halo lighting is more subtle and upscale; front-lit is bolder and more visible from distance.
Yes. We use vinyl color-matching for faces and can paint returns to any Pantone or custom color. For illuminated signs, we can adjust LED color temperature to get your letters looking right both day and night. Just provide your brand guidelines or a sample and we'll match it.
We service what we sell - and signs from other companies too. LED module replacements, face swaps, electrical troubleshooting, storm damage repair - we handle it all. Check out our sign repair services or just give us a call. We respond faster than most companies in the area.
